Ages 12 & Under
- Stingers Program Overview

- Coed experience
- Entry point for competitive homeschool basketball
- Designed for new and developing players
- Program Structure
- Fewer practices compared to 10u and 12u (experienced) teams
- No participation in the state tournament
- Focus Areas
- Development of fundamentals and basic skills
- Fun and challenging environment
- Program Independence
- Stand-alone program, does not directly feed into the Hornets program
- Placement in Hornets program cannot be guaranteed based on Stingers participation
10U
Ages 8-10 (by September 1st)
- Boys and Girls have separate teams
- Development of player skills
- Knowledge of the game
- Developing basketball IQ
- Equal Playing time to the best of the Coach's ability
- All players should be viewed as potential standouts in the game
- Every Player Will have a role to fulfill on the team
12U - Elementary
Ages 11-12 by August 1st
- Boys and Girls have separate teams
- Development of player skills
- Knowledge of the game
- Developing basketball IQ
- Equal Playing time to the best of the Coach's ability
- All players should be viewed as potential standouts in the game
- Every Player Will have a role to fulfill on the team
14U Junior High
Ages 13-14 By September 1st
- Boys and Girls have separate teams
- Transitional level of play
- Development of player skills
- Knowledge of the game
- Developing basketball IQ
- Movement toward the meritocracy of the higher levels of playing time
- All players must have significant, but not necessarily “equal” playing time over the season
- All players should be viewed as potential standouts in the game
- Every Player Will have a role to fulfill on the team
16U Junior Varsity
Ages 15-16 by August 1st
- Boys and Girls have separate teams
- Will be seek to be as competitive as possible
- Development of player skills
- Knowledge of the game
- Developing basketball IQ
- Movement toward the meritocracy of the higher levels of playing time
- All players should be viewed as potential standouts in the game
- Every Player Will have a role to fulfill on the team
18U (Varsity)
Ages 17-19 by September 1st
